Power plant on the Niagara River produce huge electricity. It helps to build the many Industries. Between 1950 and 1960s several industries moved into the city to take advantage of the hydroelectric power offered, due to a higher demand for household and industrial products. Paper, rubber, plastics, petrochemicals and abrasives were among the major industries located in the city. As Schoellkopf Power Project collapsed into Niagara River, all industrial project ( metal, processed food, abrasives, chemical industry , motor ) came to an end in mid 1960s. Logistics, i.e. storage and warehousing and information technology/call centres are also important industrial product to the city’s economy.
  • Niagara Falls is currently considered one of the top ten tourist spot in United States. Different tourism agency was formed to take care of the visitors so that they may be attractive to come again. It is a a premier spot for meetings, conventions and leisure tourism.The transportation facilities are good there. Different International Air services, railway service and road way service are available there.
    United States President Jimmy Carter took bold steps to declare a federal emergency in the neighborhood of love cannel. Supperfund Law was introduced there to protect people, families, communities and others. But no fruitful result was obtained. Several factories were shut down. Many workers tried to shift from there to such a new jobs elsewhere. Population was decreased. The economy of the city was gone to downward. The failure of the Urban Renewal Project was responsible for such bad condition.
